Hi!I have macOS Big Sur and Office 365. I have been wanting to generate a PDF from my Word file but Word keeps crashing down. I have tried different Word files and even re-installed Word, it just won't work. I get a very long error message of which I post the first lines below and hope it is useful.I am really tired of having constant issues with Office using macOS...Thanks for any help!Microsoft Error Reporting log version: 2.0Error Signature:Exception: EXC_CRASH SIGABRTExceptionEnumString: 805306368Exception Code: 0x00000001 0x00000001112f34fcDate/Time: 2023-04-26 18:15:21 +0000Applicati

Thanks for your guidance! I could find the folder, but it didn't contain a file named "com.microsoft.Word.plist". These are the microsoft files in the folder:

Do you have any idea why that is and what I could do from here?

If the file is not present in the “Preferences” folder within the “Library” folder, it could mean that Microsoft Word has not been installed or used on your computer. Alternatively, the file may have been deleted or moved.

You could try searching for the file using Spotlight by pressing “Command + Space” and typing “com.microsoft.Word.plist” in the search bar. If the file is still not found, you can try updating office or uninstall and reinstall Word from here

    Hi AnnaThomas,
Thanks for your reply. After opening the "Finder" and opening "Home" from the "Go" menu, there is no "Library". Am I searching in the wrong place? I also tried searching for the file "com.microsoft.Word.plist" via "Go to Folder", but it could not be found.
    Cheers!

    Hi Rani

I'm AnnaThomas and I'd happily help you with your question. In this Forum, we are Microsoft consumers just like yourself.

You can try to reset Word preferences. To do this, click "Home" from the "Go" menu, then open "Library" > "Preferences". Find the file named "com.microsoft.Word.plist" and move it to your desktop.

Another potential solution is to update Word. This can fix any issues with the application and make it more secure by installing needed patches. To update Word, launch the application on your Mac and go to "Help" > "Check for Updates".

Thank you so much! It finally worked! The file wasn't there, so I reinstalled Word. I don't understand how that was different from the reinstallation I had done a couple of days ago, but good to have the link you shared to be able to update from there anytime.
    Cheers!
